City Council Meetings - Second Wednesday and Fourth Wednesday of Every Month

Begins: 3/1/2026 - 6:00PM
Ends: 3/26/2027 - Until all business is complete

Just a friendly reminder that City of Sun Council Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday  of every month at 6:00pm in the City Council Chambers - 11th E. Division Street.  The public is welcome to attend.

Townwide Clean UP

Begins: 5/15/2026 - 6:00am
Ends: 5/15/2026

Curbside Trash Cleanup

Please have trash out to curb by 6:00am

Wemiga Waste will make one trip around town.  If your items are not out on the curb when they go by your house they will not come back to pick it up

Items that will be accepted are: Miscellaneous unwanted items, including (2) furniture items, 1 each of window and door per household, Regular household food waste, Carpet rolled and tied in 6' lengths (1 roll/household), Appliances-washers, dryers, water heaters, refrigerators, a/c units, microwaves and stoves (no food waste or trash in appliances), Miscellaneous scrap metal items, Used oil (max 5 gallons), Dried latex paint only- no other chemical waste will be allowed.

Piles can NOT exceed 8 feet in length X 8 feet wide, and 3 feet in height

TVs and Monitors require a bulk sticker -can be ourchased at City Hall for $30.00

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: Oil based Paint, Any & all checmicals, No construction or demolition material, No tires, pianos, organs or hot tubs.  IF something is so big it would require a trailer to haul it off, Wemiga Waste will not accept such items.

Items must by bagged or boxed so as the collectors can pick them up from curbside.  Wemiga will not rake or scoop up loose piles of trash thrown at the curb.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are a trash to treasure hunter please be considerate when digging throught the piles and DO NOT leave a mess on the curb.
